So I lied...
I’m not actually driving. Although that would be badass and a story for the ages, I’ll gladly pay an extra $120 for the convenience of flying. Heading to White Plains pretty soon, since my 6am flight from Bradley was cancelled. Gonna be a fun weekend with some fun people. Let’s go Huskies.

Final Four Bound!
With UConn’s victory tonight over Arizona 65-63, the Huskies are heading to Houston for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four. I will be road-tripping it to Texas. That’s right, all 29 hours. With a contingency plan to drive to Indianapolis for the women’s championship. And because I will be road-tripping it (potentially with some super awesome people), I will also be...

Benford's Law →
As a math major, I found this pretty awesome. It’s about the uneven distribution of numbers in the world starting with different digits. For example, you’d think that if you picked a number at random (not from your head, from a separate source like a newspaper or the internet), the odds of it starting with a 1 would be 11.1%, or 1/9 (one of nine digits, 1-9). But that’s not true....

Song of the Day(s): Taylor Swift - Haunted
So I haven’t posted in a while. So to make up for it, here’s Taylor Swift’s best song of all-time. Totally different direction for her.

My NFL "Illegal Hit" Conspiracy Theory
OK, so this week alone, the NFL has fined nine players, including two Patriots, for playing football. To the tune of $100,000. Are you serious, Roger Goodell? You fined Myron Pryor for cutting Brett Favre’s chin on a LEGAL HIT? He hit him IN THE CHEST, IN TIME. And Gary Guyton’s late hit on Favre I guess could be justified, but just because the NFL pities Brett Favre and feels they...

Pittsburgh 0-2 UConn; Notre Dame 3-0 Georgetown
UConn soccer helped their own cause this afternoon by defeating Pitt 2-0 on goals scored three minutes apart by Juho Karppinen. However, Georgetown was unable to secure at least a tie at Notre Dame, falling 3-0. The loss by Georgetown succumbs UConn (11-2-4, 5-1-3) to the #3 seed in the Big East Tournament. They will face the #6 seed from the Red Division, DePaul (4-9-5, 1-5-3), on Thursday night...

Providence 1-0 WVU, FT
With a loss at Providence this afternoon, West Virginia has assured itself a #4 seed in the Big East Tournament, meaning that UConn will have no worse than a #3 seed. With Georgetown/Notre Dame and UConn/Pitt still to play tomorrow, the seeding in the Blue Division will depend on these games. #2 SEED IF: UConn wins @ Pitt AND Notre Dame loses/ties v Georgetown UConn ties @ Pitt AND Notre Dame...

Milan 1-2 Juventus, FT
So after the ESPN3.com video feeds cuts out for the last 10 minutes of the match, Juventus goes into San Siro and comes away with a victory. They now sit in 4th, with 15 points at 4-3-2, and Milan stays in 3rd with 17 points at 5-2-2.

Ibrahimovic puts a header just past Marco Storari on a cross from Antonini to give Milan some life after 60+ minutes of consecutive sluggish play.

Alessandro del Piero buries a touch from substitute Mohamed Sissoko into the bottom left corner from 15 yards, becoming the all-time leading scorer for Juventus in Serie A with 179 goals. And it’s 2-0 Juve.

Georgetown 1-0 UConn, FT
Georgetown wins the Big East Blue Division by dominating in a win over UConn, the Huskies’ first conference loss of 2010. The best UConn can hope for is a #2 seed in the Big East Tournament. Seeding will be settled after Saturday’s matches. #2 SEED IF: UConn wins @ Pitt AND Georgetown wins/ties @ Notre Dame UConn ties @ Pitt AND Georgetown wins @ Notre Dame AND West Virginia loses @...

Georgetown 1-0 UConn
Georgetown is dominating the possession and scoring chances in this game. A header in the box from a right-side in-swinging cross puts them ahead. 13 minutes left.

#6 UConn vs Georgetown POSTPONED
Due to inclement weather, the match at Georgetown scheduled for 3:00pm today has been moved to 2:00pm Thursday (tomorrow). This game is huge for Blue Division positioning, as Georgetown (10-4-1, 6-1-0) is three points clear of UConn (10-1-4, 4-0-3) for first with two to play. The game, as always, will be broadcast on 91.7 WHUS-HD1, and on WHUS.org.

Found this on Deadspin.com. One of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. The trick around 2:12 is absolutely absurd.

FIFA 11: Marchisio Volley →
If you can’t tell (because of FIFA’s horrible replay-creating technology, which appears to have been invented in 1997), this is Claudio Marchisio taking a cross from Jorge Martínez, trapping it with his chest, taking a shot before the ball hits the ground, hitting it through a defender’s legs, and scoring upper-90. Decent.
